Fun Walk Bonus 2022

Over £1000 bonus from this year's Billericay Platinum Jubilee Fun Walk

Bonus Benefits

We were amongst over 70 organisations registered to take part in this year's Platinum Jubilee Fun Walk where an estimated 2170 participants walked to raise money for good causes.

Generous Support

With sponsorship money totalled and the audit process finished, the Fun Walk Trust has recently issued a new Press Release this month in which our local MP, John Baron, Chair of The Fun Walk Trustees said:

“I am very happy to announce that, with the generous support of our Bonus Pot sponsors, this year we have been able to provide a 40% bonus over and above the amount raised by participating organisations through their own sponsorship efforts, and to report that this year’s event has raised a total of £94,437.”

“We know how much the bonus pot helps participating organisations motivate their supporters to take part and we are very grateful to Greater Anglia, Brown and Carroll, IFE Global Logistics, Anisha Grange Care Home, Tunnelcraft, Swan Housing, Butyl Products, McDonald’s Basildon, Mr Barrie Stone and many others that donated this year.”

“This year’s total means that from its inception in 2002, the Fun Walk has raised over £1,450,000 for local charities and community groups which is an amazing achievement by everyone involved.”

What a Bonus!

We are proud to be part of the Fun Walk community. and to take part in the walk each year - this year eight of our members and friends took part - Roger Kettle, Patrick Rothon, Malcolm Acors, Peter Greene and Brian Wellman, as well as Peter and Christabel Strong, and Wendy Williams. They were generously supported by sponsorship by colleagues, families and friends.

This year’s bonus of 40% means that we were delighted to receive a bonus cheque of £1021, the first time our sponsorship has generated a bonus that exceeded £1000 in one year!

The cheque is usually presented by local MP John Baron to all participants at a ceremony at Anisha Grange, but an outbreak of Covid at the care home meant that this had to be cancelled at the last moment, and the cheque was hand delivered to us by Fun Walk Trustee and Volunteer, Sandra Bastow.

We raised a total of £2,055 from the Fun Walk, plus Gift Aid of £496.25 giving us a grand total of £2,551.25.
That means that with the receipt of the Bonus Cheque for £1021, participation in the Fun Walk has generated just under £3600 to go to Charity and Good Causes.
