2022 09 Archery/Fencing/Eating

Fun had by all

Archery and Fencing – Monday 26th September

A merry band of Rotarians, guests, and Inner Wheel members headed to the top of Cocking Hill on the South Downs Way for an afternoon of Archery and Fencing courtesy of Leaping Hart Archery under the direction of Michael Chevis and his fellow Club Members.

Good instruction was given, and all participants showed improvement in their archery.

A good and light-hearted introduction to fencing was provided with the opportunity for participants to “have a go”.

The President soon regretted his decision to take part as he retreated and then fled when facing his duel with Joyce Whatley!

The session concluded with an entertaining and informative talk on archery in the Middle Ages.

An optional extension of a Bow Making Course was offered but the attendees chose to retire to the Three Horseshoes at Elsted, instead.
