New Rainbows Unit

To be set up on Portland

Rainbows

District commissioner for Girl Guiding on Portland José  MacLeod, joined us with her fellow Anita Joines, who is a Rainbows leader, to give us a talk on Girl Guiding and the setting up of a new Rainbows group on Portland this September.

José gave a brief history of how Lord Baden-Powell started up the Scouts, Girl Scouts and eventually decided the girls should have their own group, Girl Guides.

Pen and paper were distributed and a quiz followed, some of the answers having been in the information Jose had already supplied, but others were not so well known. The winner? Well it looks like Judy Barnard-Jones may have been a Girl Guider?? She wiped the floor with the rest of us!

We were delighted to donate £100 towards the start up of  £1,000 for the new Rainbows unit.
