Midhurst and Petworth Rotary Club

Club Meeting   Monday 15th August

55 members of Midhurst and Petworth Rotary club and Inner Wheel plus guests attended Langham’s Brewery for the Rotary evening.  Not our usual haunt but nevertheless a Brewery is where beer is so lots of willing participants.

The evening was towards the end of our very hot spell and on the night the temperatures had dropped a bit and made for a very pleasant evening sitting outside on benches and trestle tables.

The main feature of the evening was a talk by Ruth James from the South Downs National Park Authority to celebrate their 12 years of existence and explain lots of what they have done and are doing.  Ruth was a very eloquent speaker and spoke for about 30 minutes with a well constructed and clear history of SDNPA and their multiple achievements.  There followed some searching questions which Ruth answered clearly and precisely.  All members and guests appreciated the clear and exact delivery of what SDNPA is and left us with much more knowledge of their achievements and ambitions.

Rangesh’s Drone recorded the scene from a considerable height but he did land it to cut down on the whirring noise!

And so to the 40 Pizzas which were all pre-ordered and served in waves to compliment the beer and drinks already bought.  They were delicious, well done and big thanks to Lesley Foulkes, the owner, and Bex Harman the manager for their excellent service food and most importantly the Beer.

A great venue, excellent talk, good food and drink and an enjoyable evening was had by all attendees a Rotary night to remember.
