We held our third Ingatestone Christmas Market last December, and it was the first time that we raised any appreciable funds. As the event is well supported by the Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Association it was decided that we would donate a sum to them which they needed for the refurbishment of their snooker table baizes & cushions and some other improvements.
This has now been completed, so to mark the occasion, a delegation of nine Rotary members (Noelle, Barry, John, Nigel, Neil, our 2 Peters L&P, Ron & Helder) went along on Thursday 21st July 2022 to meet the trustees of the club and view the results.
The Chair of the trustees, Lilian Hunter, gave a very nice and concise speech of gratitude to our Rotary Club for all the help we have given them over the years.
In addition, trustees Teresa Ravenscroft, Tom O’Connor, and Snooker coach John Inverarity were also present.
It has to be said that none of our members was brave enough to attempt to pot a few balls. I think they became nervous when they saw John Inverarity, the snooker cueing instructor and pro, ironing the baize!
Photos were taken to mark the occasion, and a social gathering then made their way for a bite and drink at the Club Community bar.
