For the Fair the weather was perfect, sunny and warm, and sufficient of a gentle breeze to prevent it felling uncomfortably hot as earlier in July.
Some of the stallholders commented that there was plenty of footfall as the public investigated possible bargains.
As for the previous fair in July, stall holders occupied the area of the field that otherwise would be used for car parking, and an additional row at the opposite end of the Field. The East Field was opened for car parking and, may be it was an indication of the numbers visiting the Fair, the East Field appeared to have as many, if not more, cars parked there than there were stallholders in the West Field.
As usual there was the normal variety of items for sale at the stalls. It was noticeable however that the number of stalls offering plants for sale was limited, probable due to the ongoing dry weather and the impending hose pipe ban.
Rotarian Tony Henley , from the Seaford Rotary Fundraising Committee, stated that the number of stalls at 103 was the third highest recorded at Seaford Rotary Fairs, and that approximately £1200 was raised from the Fair. Our grateful thanks to all who contributed to raising this sum.
All money raised will be put to good use for local charitable causes.
