Sailing Day with Next Step West Midlands

On Saturday July 16th we entertained NEXT STEP at our annual Sailing day at the Greensforge Sailing Club at Calf Heath Reservoir.

The event was attended by the Newly elected District Governor Rtn Steve Antill together with his wife Helen and daughter Chloe and a number of Rotary Club Wednesfield members.

Sailing commenced at about 10:30 and a BBQ served between 12:00 and 1:00 pm after which sailing recommenced until about 2:00pm when the heat took over.

Although we had a beautiful day ,a little more wind would have been very welcome nevertheless all of the participants thoroughly enjoyed the experience and received a “beginners certificate “ upon completion.

The food for the BBQ was very kindly donated by Tesco Supermarket, Wolverhampton and we also received financial support from Blakemores Wholesalers of Wolverhampton.

Another great outdoor experience for these disadvantaged young people and we must thank Ian Cooper  and his team at Greensforge for their continued support of this event.
