2022 07 President's Party

PRESIDENT JULIAN’S PARTY  - SUNDAY 17 JULY 2022

Julian Goodale invited Rotarians, Inner Wheel and partners to a party in his garden to celebrate his new presidency. Also invited were The Lions Chairman and some prospective Rotarians. We were also in the presence of the wife of one of our founding members  - Peggy.  How proud Frank would have been to see his son Julian today.

If this spread put on by wife Diane is anything to go by we are in for a sumptuous year – catering is certainly one of Diane’s many skills. Thanks must also go to various ladies who made food for the event – I have to comment on the roulades made by Sandy Maguire – superb!

Julian welcomed us all before we got stuck in to the wonderful spread. Julian organised all the Past Presidents together for a group photo – 16 plus our Vice President John Maguire. Unfortunately we were missing John Barrett, Jim Reader and Mervyn Evans Jones who were unable to come along.  Just in my time in Rotary several Past Presidents have passed away - John Crabbe, Robin Macmillan, Tessa Kershaw, Roger Poat, Richard Histed and David Robson. We were however joined by Pauline, Elma and Brenda. Jan would  love to have joined us but is down with Covid.

As usual I just used the camera function on my phone but we were very up-to-date in that Rangesh had a drone working - hence lots of pictures!

Lovely time had by all.
