LOCAL ROTARY CLUB AND HAULIER SENDS AID TO UKRAINE
Rotary Club of Minster on Sea and Dave Bennet Distribution worked together to gather and transport products to help the people of Ukraine.
Past President of the Rotary Club of Minster on Sea, Raymond Seager contacted his friend from Dave Bennett Distribution to ask if he had some space that the Rotary Club could use to store products that the Rotary Club have been collecting while transport could be arranged to take it to help the Ukrainians.
We were blown away when Dave offered to drive one of his lorries over to Poland himself to deliver the goods. Dave only asked that we fill the lorry and organize the paper work, he would provided the manpower and fuel.
Minster on Sea Rotary Club had previously provided toiletries and sanitary products for Ukraine which had been transported by van by a group from Sittingbourne, who have been regularly sending vans of products and so Ray contacted them to see if they could help us fill the lorry.
The Rotary Club of Inverness Colluden had wheelchairs which were transported down from Scotland last week ready to go with the consignment, along with beds and other items.
Dave Bennett left the Isle of Sheppey with his lorry on Tuesday 12th July from the Aviator in Queenborough. A crowd gathered to wish him well and see him off.
