As usual the Epsom Rotary team led a group of friends of The Old Moat Garden Centre in mowing the lawn and tending the Walled Garden area. We had the use of two heavy duty lawn mowers today used by Julie and Chris whilst others used strimmers cutting back the wildly grown grasses around, and some tended to collection of grass cuttings and cutting edges. We left it looking inviting especially around the picnic/seating areas of the walled garden and as we were just about finished some visitors took up the opportunity.
The Old Moat Garden Centre is run by The Richmond Fellowship who support work programmes and volunteering opportunities especially those with mental health needs. Epsom Rotary and friends have been attending to the grass cutting at The Old Moat Garden Centre for quite some years now and have watched the Garden Centre become a very pleasant place to visit and expand over the years.
After the work was considered completed, we all enjoyed a chat and a coffee in the Cafe at the Old Moat.
