The second annual Ladies Lunch, attended by 130 ladies, was held at the Holiday Inn, Dodworth in aid of Barnsley Youth Choir and LimbBo Foundation. The lunch is proving to be a popular event with fifty-five ladies rebooking after last year’s and more already requesting details for 2023!
Entertainment was provided by the immensely talented Hannah Rowe, a senior soloist with the Youth Choir but also included a debut appearance by 13 year old Lily Banton. A fashion parade of beautiful outfits provided by Bride & Guests of Cundy Cross, Barnsley also took place.
Before and after lunch ladies were able to shop at the various stalls selling a range of goods as well as partake in the Lucky Dip and Raffle. A beautiful flower arrangement donated by Tulip of Dodworth was also raffled off..
A presentation of sunflowers, provided by Tesco Extra, Stairfoot was made by Madam Mayor, Councillor Sarah-Jane Tattersall to a group of ladies belonging to the Elsecar section of United for Ukraine. The sunflower is Ukraine‘s national flower. In addition all ladies received a glass of Prosecco on arrival, a goody-bag containing various skincare creams, a credit-card holder and a packet of sunflower seeds. There was also a surprise gift of a stuffed toy for one lucky lady on every table.
The total amount raised was £2450.
