VETERANS JUBILEE PARTY
A belated Jubilee celebration by way of indoor street party organised by Tracey Morris of Surrey County Council, Royal British Legion and Epsom Rotary was held for the joy of a number of veterans and their guests on Sunday, 19 Julne 2022 at the Army Reserve Centre in Ewell, with assistance from the 135 Geographic Squadron. The hall was decorated with jubilee banter and tables prepared welcoming the guests. The veterans, ex service men and their guests were entertained with some genuine World War 11 vehicles, free ice cream courtesy of Daisy Ice Cream Van and other entertainers include Jive/Swing dancers dressed in army attire and managed to get other up dancing too, Epsom Male Choir and a band with tunes and songs of bygone years.
The guests were honoured with the presence of the Mayor of Epsom & Ewell, Clive Woodbridge and the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molyneux and other guest speakers.
With the spread of buffet food, cake, drinks, both non alcohol and later alcohol and endless cups of tea and the company of all those around made the event one to remember for all those who attended and also all those who assisted in running the event for quite some time to come.
