Children's author Greta Yorke gave a delightful talk to Prestwick Rotarians on the creative process involved in writing stories. Greta was invited as a guest speaker by Lorraine McEvoy. Greta is shown left of the picture next to Lorraine. Greta worked as a primary teacher in New Cumnock before retiring to write, and publish a number of books, mainly with a theme about witches, but all with lifestyle messages for children, such as healthy living, helping others, it's good to talk, and the benefits of persevering.

'Which Hitch' is an early story, inspired by her primary school children making 10 different witches. Other books include 'The Woo in the Wildwoods', 'Tartan Witch' and 'Elbo the Elf''. Greta finished by reading a poem 'The Bogle'.

Many questions followed. Donald Cuthbertson offered Greta a hearty vote of thanks for an informative and entertaining presentation.
