Dominic Reynolds’ address to the Club on May 17th 2022
Dominic outlined the History of the family business in Bognor from its foundation 1867 by the 19-year-old Samuel Reynolds to today, when 89 year old Norman Reynolds, is the fourth generation Chairman, and father of Dominic and his three brothers, (the fifth generation), who together with Dominic’s daughter Freya, (sixth generation) are the Shareholders in the company. Dominic and two of his brothers head up the three different branches of the company: Furniture, Funerals and the Depository, while the fourth is the Company Accountant. Freya with a academic background in Business Management augers well for the future.
A range of factors illustrated by Dominic indicated why Reynolds continues to be a successful business – quality of product, quality of service, staff loyalty and financial acumen. Simple but vital matters such as owning the freehold of their premises.
Members asked Dominic many questions on all aspects of the family’s business success, mentioning in passing satisfaction with purchases of Reynolds furniture – Dominic’s speciality.
