Gregors hobby talk

N gauge model railways

Gregor Purdie treated fellow Prestwick Rotarians to a 'whistle-stop' tour of his passion for N gauge model railways. He caught the bug from his father, and cleverly linked the railway carriages, which he passed round the group, with key events in his life.

These include travels as a child, travelling to university, married life, and international holiday travel, including the Orient Express. It seems that every train he has ever taken, triggers an association in Gregor's head, with a life experience or activity. His enthusiasm was passed onto the audience, who asked many questions.
Who would have thought that railway carriages could be so interesting !! Rotarian Jim Bruce offered a well-deserved vote of thanks, for a first class train journey into the model railway world.
