Gurkha Meal - 26th June 2022

Sunday 26th June 2022, 12.30 for 1 pm 

The event was carried out very successfuly with 200 Rotarians and Friends in the presence of The Mayor of Stafford Rtn Phillip Leason and his wife,  plus the District Governor of Rotary District 1210 Rtn Robyn Davies and Rtn Trevor Davies.

An opportunity to attend a unique event - a meal prepared and served by the locally based Gurkhas where the Gurkha Kukri Dance will be performed. 

The meal will be prepared by 248 Gurkha Signals Squadron based in Stafford, and will include a curry main course, Vegetarian and Non Curry options available followed by a choice of sweets. BYO wines/beers -  Glasses and water will be provided.

The main course will include curry, non-curry and vegetarian options and choice of sweets.

· The enthusiatic support and assistance of the Commanding Officer, 248 Queen's Royal Gurkha Signal Squadron in staging this event is gratefully acknowledged.

This event will celebrate the local links with Ghurkha Signals Squadrons based in Stafford, and include a presentation on the Gurkha Soldiers and their 200 years of service to the British Army. This is the third such event staged by the Rotary Clubs of Stafford, Stafford Knot, Stafford Castle and Eccleshall Mercia with 248 Squadron support.

The use of the excellent facilities of the Sports Hall at Stafford Grammar School by kind permission of the Headmaster is greatly appreciated.
