Kendal Open Door is a community sponsorship group enabling a refugee family to settle in Kendal.
The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary was Sheila O’Brian from ‘Kendal Open Door’. She gave a presentation describing this new charity, how it was formed and its purpose.
Kendal Open Door is a community sponsorship group enabling a refugee family to settle in Kendal.
The scheme is run by the Home Office and will apply to a family that already has refugee status but is waiting for a place in this country.
Currently the UK are only accepting families from the Middle East and North Africa but this will change as circumstances permit.
