Grace Home Orphanage, Kethmandu, Nepal

Dear Fellow Priory Rotarians,

If the news of 2021 has not been particularly good, here’s something that will cheer you up. As you will all recall, together with the other King’s Lynn Rotary Clubs and a matching District grant we have funded the provision of potable water for the Grace Home Orphanage in Kathmandu, an orphange that I have been involved with for many years. The Orphanage Trustees and children are so very grateful for the help we have given. Not only have we provided clean drinking water, we have also saved them the cost of buying in bottled drinking water.

As appreciation, each child at the orphanage has sent us a hand produced Christmas card, a collage photo of which is attached. We have also received a brass plaque thanking us for the help we have given, a photo of which is also attached. If you can’t read the writing on the plaque, this is what to says:

'On behalf “Grace Home, Nepal”, new would like to extend our heart-felt thankfulness for your generous contributions towards our orphanage, which will be used to meet the basic necessities of the children. Grace Home, Nepal is a Government registered loving and caring home for orphan children coming from diverse backgrounds of Nepal. We aim at giving refuge to these children, nurturing and helping them grow to be the successful and contributing members of the community. So, we appreciate any support given for this noble cause.

We would again like to extend a warm than you for making a difference in the lives of these needy children.’

Sincerely,

D. R. Rai
