What an excellent evening this was and many thanks to all the organisers of this very enjoyable event.
This Murder Mystery evening was the first one our Rotary Club has held and it was attended by 35 Rotary members and very welcome guests.
The play was written by our very own "Pam Ayres" Dorothy Scott, with Kim Smith, Angela Ellis, Brian Price ( as the dead body), Nick Stimpson, Sheila Smith and Norman Thorp as the characters in the play.
The format was the following:
An introduction to Act one by narrator Bruce Morgan, with act one starting to build up the clues as to who was the murderer. The starter of a very tasty soup, bread rolls and croutons then followed.
Bruce then introduced Act two with further clues, followed by the main course of a delicious pasta dish with a
Act three was then introduced by Bruce with further clues, followed by a tasty lemon tart with cream and coulis.
The final act was a summary of the events with the audience then allowed time to decide on the murderer while having coffee and chocolates.
The raffle was drawn before the murderer was revealed - the gardener! All the tables got the answer right and thanks to the generosity of everyone present this event raised over £600 for our charitable efforts in the community.
A very special thanks to Dorothy for writing the play, Angela for the inspired decision to hold this event, to Angela and Sheila for all their hard work preparing and making the delicious meal, and to everyone who helped on the evening with setting up, taking down, serving and acting. Congratulations to everyone!
