The FTSE 100 closed the week at 7051.48 which was up from the previous week’s low of 6,963.64.
There were some massive swings in the fortunes of those in our FTSE 100 competition mainly fuelled by the good week for Rolls Royce. Ian Grieve jumped 54 places and Tom P, 48 places while Midge dropped 35 places and Stephanie 32 places.
British Airways owner IAG soared by 17.5% on the week after it was confirmed that the White House would ease travel restrictions to the US from Europe in November. Airlines had already been buoyed by the announcement last week that UK restrictions would be eased but their shares took flight this week!
Shares in Ladbrokes and Coral owner Entain soared 13% as it confirmed reports the company has received a multi-billion-pound takeover approach from US rival DraftKings.
Drinks firms were shaken amid fears that the carbon dioxide shortage could impact production of fizzy drinks but Coca-Cola still closed the week up 1.1%.

The consequence of all the above is that from 44th place Sammy The Tammy with holdings in the week’s top two shares, moves into top position, Fiona Todd and Mark Todd move up in second and four split by Stuart Farquharson in third.
