Centenary Gift from Claverhouse Rotary Club

We were delighted to receive this handsome lectern from Claverhouse Rotary Club to mark our centenary.

This most generous gift was designed and crafted by Claverhouse member Joe Dagen.

He painstakingly assembled it from more than 50 pieces of European oak and incorporated power, light and usb connections to make it adaptable for all communication platforms.

The Rotary badge was transferred from the old lectern. Hand-carved in lime, the feature is estimated to be as old as our club at 100 years.

The lectern was presented at our first post-lockdown lunch back at the Invercarse Hotel by Claverhouse president Robert Burns.

The lectern will be the centrepiece of our top table at weekly meetings and will also be used at special dinners.

President Andrew said: "The lectern is a wonderful gift that we were thrilled to receive from our daughter club."

The photograph shows Joe Dagen, President Andrew and Claverhouse President Robert Burns with the lectern.
