2021 08 Charity Golf Day

Charity Golf Day at Cowdray Park

M&P Rotary Club Charity Golf Day

On a beautiful summers day the Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth entertained 124 golfers at Cowdray Park Golf Club for their annual Charity Day. Having missed out in 2020 it was not known how many teams would enter the competition this year but the response of 31 teams was a great result. The course was in immaculate condition and received much praise from the players. The competition for prizes was fierce with the top 5 teams being covered by 2 stableford points. The winners, on count back, with 90 points (47 on the back nine) were Hindhead Hybrids followed by KerryType Fore (46 on the back nine). Both these teams have been supporters of this event for many years.

One of the nearest the pin prizes produced a remarkable result in that two players landed their ball within 18 inches of the flag and were both exactly the same distance away. Both the ladies in question received a prize!

At the prize giving Rotary President Simon Flint thanked all the players for attending and gave special thanks to Cowdray Park and all the sponsors and donors who helped to make the day a success. The day produced a surplus of well over £6000 and this will help support the work of the Sylvia Beaufoy Youth Centre in Petworth and other Rotary Charities.
