The hills above Wensleydale echoed once again to the sound of pounding feet as the 2021 Wensleydale Rotary Club Herriott Run was held yesterday. The Run has been staged for nearly 40 years with the exception of last year, but this was the 16th to take place off-road at Castle Bolton. After careful consideration and extra planning for the latest Covid guidelines Wensleydale Rotary staged another very successful event.
Running along a 14 kilometre course, the 231 entrants from all around the country (the numbers limited by Covid considerations) were aged between 18 and over 70.
The fastest time was achieved by Paul Cornock, from Richmond in a blistering 53 minutes.
Here are the Results by time - The staggered start meant that the first home were not necessarily the fastest, so we are indebted to the time-keepers for sorting that out!

As usual, a big thank you to volunteers from Swaledale Road Runners who managed the finish and time-keeping in a very professional way, as usual- something we Rotarians could not have done ourselves.
Thanks also to Tom Orde-Powlett, Richard Spensley & Son, and Stewart Raw for use of their land.
Thank you to all the clubs and individuals who took part. We hope you enjoyed it, despite the changes, and want to return. We will have raised funds for charities and local deserving causes. I'll enter the amount when this has been counted.
Finally, thanks to the photographers, Jan Jarvis, Doug Binks, David Muscroft and Chris Wheatley.
