Hundreds of eggs were donated by club members and the community after an appeal by the club to provide a boost to children children whose families are experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic. The club members also recognised that the elderly have endured great hardship during lockdowns and so they decided to use some of the matching funding to buy Easter gifts of fruit and veg to hand out in gift boxes to local care home residents and elderly in the community. Our stocks were boosted by a donation from the Coop on Talbot Road, Newton.
A wide range of community groups and charities benefitted including a Women's Refuge, Dukinfield Kitchen Pantry, the Moravian Church, local schools, the Heyrod Village Easter Egg Hunt and the Carrbrook Clean up. Meanwhile the fruit and veg boxes were distributed to seniors living in local care homes and housing association properties.
