ORBIS - Changing How The World Sees

President Peter’s Walk in the Park for ORBIS raised £453.75 and we received fulsome thanks from the Charity.

What a Walk in the Park!

We have reported previously how president Peter’s Walk in the Park for ORBIS raised £453.75.

Club Appreciation

The Club has now received this message from Chloe Attwood, Supporter Engagement Officer. Orbis UK.

“Thank you so much for your generous gift.  Your contribution will enable us to meet head on the challenges we face in the wake of the pandemic, and means that we can make  necessary arrangements for our field workers to be able to work in a safe way for all staff and patients.  Because of you we will be able to offer critical eye care against all the odds during this time of major global health crisis .... Your kindness is changing the way the world sees.”

And there was a follow-up from Fiona Lyons, Senior Fundraising Officer, ORBIS UK.

“Thank you for your email, and more importantly, for the wonderful donation!  This is so kind of your Club, many thanks to all involved in the sponsored walk.  It is …really interesting to hear about the Orbithon, and it’s so good of you all that we have your continued support, 7 years on from the original district sponsored walk – thank you.  I hope the weather was OK when you took part? It’s not much fun doing any sort of a long-distance walk/outdoor charity fundraiser at this time of year! If there are any photos of the event, maybe you could forward a couple to me – I could see if we can put them on our Facebook page!”

We’re no shrinking violets. Of course we sent the photos, AND a copy of our Newsletter article.
