2021 01 25 Joint Club Zoom Meeting

25 January 2021 over Zoom 6.00 pm GMT

President Rangesh and his team must be congratulated for setting up such a well organised meeting.

 We had nearly 90 attendees from 3 continents and from 6 countries including UK, Latvia, Ghana, India, USA, South Africa.

Guests included President Chris Redford from Godalming RC, Pres Karen Saltiel from Cambridge USA RC and Cherillyn Poynter from Scottburgh together with our District Governor Nick Drake and many friends across the world.

This project was sparked by the visit of Sarah Morley, daughter of M&P Rotarian Hazel, to Scottburgh and her presentation to our Clubs on her return.This ended up as a joint project of the Rotary Clubs of Scottburgh, Midhurst and Petworth and Godalming Woolsack with the support of Rotary District 1145

Our first presentation was by Sarah explaining about her life and how she came to be in SA.

We then had a report from Cherillyn giving us details of the building and completion of the rape crisis centre.

The meeting ended with Rtn Robert Morrison telling us about Robby Burns and the singing of 'Auld Lang Syne'.

More details of the project will be on this website shortly but I felt details should be noted of how well technology and good organisation can bring people together..
