Covid 19 Vaccination Underway at Riverbank Medical Centre in Midhurst
Rotarians have once again been great help to the local community. They have been on the “front line” assisting with the Covid-19 vaccinations. Riverbank Medical Centre anticipate vaccinating over 1,950 in its first week. Patients are coming in from the Petworth practice too.
Next year’s President, Simon Flint, made up a rota of Rotarians and friends who had volunteered to help with Covid-19 Vaccination days at Riverbank. Everybody was asked to walk to the surgery if at all possible but car parking needed to be controlled, patients checked for pre-existing signs of Covid-19, along with general marshalling to keep the flow at a manageable level. Help was also required with wiping seats and waiting areas. Each helper was issued with a disposable mask and gloves and a visor which had to be cleaned after each session. In addition, on the first vaccination day helpers had to cope with incredible rainfalls.
It is very satisfying to be able to help the people of Midhurst. Next week vaccinations will also be carried out by Midhurst Pharmacy and supported by Midhurst Angels.
Grateful thanks must go to all the doctors, nurses, health care assistants and receptionists at Riverbank for their dedication. This has been a huge team effort and the show goes on.
