The Irvine Seagate Rotary meeting on Monday was a Christmas fun night on Zoom. Secretary Andy Slater had collected childhood photos of members, and there was some hilarity as others tried to identify the innocent babes of last century. This was followed by an Xmas quiz including trivia, music and films. There was then an attempt at community singing. The advantage of virtual meetings on line is that you can turn down the volume. The Christmas trees are now up in the Portal. There are only two this year, due to the virus restrictions, but they are worth a visit if you are passing. One is sponsored by Ardagh Glass to celebrate 100 years of the company, and the other is a Giving Tree, where you can hang an Xmas wish or personal memory ribbon, and make a donation to charity.
A few days earlier, the club passed over approximately £500 of Christmas gifts to Barnardo's & North Ayrshire Social Care to be passed over to children in local refuges for Christmas Day.
