2020 11 Visit to US Rotary Club Cambridge

Peter Kyle talked about Rotary relationship with UN


M&P Rotary Club joined Rotary Club of Cambridge, Massachusetts for their lunchtime Zoom meeting. Cambridge is across the Charles River from Boston and is the home of Harvard University and MIT. . Robert Mansfield,  Past President RC of Cambridge had joined M&P Rotary Club by Zoom to speak at one of our September meetings. Bob  had hosted Simon Flint’s daughter when she was an Ambassadorial scholar. Paul and Susan Ryan had also visited their club on an exchange programme about 10 years ago.

 The speaker today was Peter Kyle who is a Rotary International Director for 2020-2022. Peter first went to USA as an ambassador scholar and is now a members  scholar at Capital Hill, DC-he is on Exec Rotary Committee he was Outward Bound chair for several years and in this capacity had meetings with Prince Philip. Today Peter talked about Rotary’s relationship with United Nations which started before the first world war. Peter described the incredible relationship Rotary has with the UN and the benefits of collaboration .

President Rangesh has invited rotarians from Cambridge to join M&P Rotarians for their meeting on 21 Jan when we will take them to Scottburgh, South Africa to show them the project we have been involved with there.
