Irvine Seagate Rotary’s Zoom meeting went international on Monday. Speaker Martin Brocklebank from East Anglia was talking about the Rotary eClub of Innovation, and members from the US and Canada as well as other parts of the UK took part in the evening. The eClub has members all over the world and is particularly suited to those who frequently travel, or are homebound, as they can take part without having to attend meetings in one place every week. The eClub has been running since 2014 and has some original ways of raising money and supporting charity. An eClub of Aviation has recently been formed, demonstrating the benefit for those whose work takes them away from a home base. A Vote of Thanks was proposed by Andy Slater.
In Club business it was noted that it is hoped to hold the Primary Schools Quiz in March, either physically or elelctronically, and some of the regular Secondary Schools competitions should go ahead in the New Year. Seagate will again be supporting the local Barnardo’s children with donations of toys at Christmas.
