The final day of trading in our FTSE 100 competition showed the index drop another 31 points to close at 5866.10. The FTSE 100 competition has been a real education with lessons in economics, politics, foreign exchange, commodities, share dealing and probably gambling.

Markets on our final day held steady following a tense US election debate. President Donald Trump repeatedly interrupted his Democratic rival Joe Biden in the Cleveland debate.
News that the UK gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have contracted by 19.8% in Quarter 2 did little to help the market which squirmed at the largest quarterly contraction in the UK economy since quarterly records began in 1955.
There was a late revival in banking shares and from Diageo but Fresnillo made gains to ensure it ended the quarter with the best gain possible, an impressive 66.9%.

AnnieBanani turned out to be our biggest mover over the last three days, gaining 15 places while Peter Douglas dropped 17 places. Best performers were those holding Diageo shares - Dougal the Cockapoo, George Primrose and Cyril U James - with a 5.1% increase since the weekend. Beers Drunk was the loser of the week with his holding, wholly in BP, creating another -3.5% result.
