Carol Lintott from Midhurst Town Council talked to the club

                                                            07/09/2020

The club was joined on Zoom by the Chair of Midhurst Town Council, Carol Lintott

a very interesting and informative question and answer session ensued.

Carol can trace her Midhurst roots back to the 1790’s and several members of her family have given decades of service to the Midhurst community, not least her cousin, Rotarian Eddie Lintott with an amazing 52 years as a Stedham parish councillor.
Carol told us that she felt that Midhurst was holding its own in these difficult times and showing great resilience - most businesses are bouncing back. The council is working hard to maintain Midhurst’s position as one of the best places to live in England.
The council runs a budget of around £250,000 per year which it uses to operate the Old Library, the recreation ground, cemetery, street lighting etc. Carol is especially pleased with the result of the £10,000 they have spent on the floral decoration of the town.
She told us of the amazing work carried out by the Midhurst Angels over lockdown. They dealt with over 1,000 requests for help, organised 150 volunteers and distributed 3,000 face masks.
She hopes to use her term of office to ensure that Midhurst has a bright future as a happy, cohesive and vibrant community.
