FTSE 100 Week One Results
Only 13 companies are currently showing gains in values, our leader has made a £6895 gain on the £50,000 investment.
Congratulations to the leader after week one of the FTSE 100 competition, Sammy’s Granny. Her portfolio has witnessed a gain of £6,895. A good performance for someone who was an early entrant and not able to benefit from scrutiny of share prices up until the entry deadline.
Sammy’s Granny is pursued closely by Stewart Morgan, Pigman’s Dad and Hansen Low.
Only 13 companies are currently showing gains in values and the best performers are currently Fresnillo (+19%), Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust (+14%), Polymetal International plc (+11%), and Bunzl plc, Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc and Pearson plc (all +8%). It would not be wrong to assume that the early leaders backed those companies.
Poorest performers - Rolls Royce Holdings Plc. easyJet plc, Melrose Industries plc – have lost more than 20% of their value only slightly better than International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, and Carnival plc who have had 30% losses. It could be that some are after the whisky prize for the winner of the wooden spoon. You can see who those are and without highlighting his name, the worst performing portfolio has managed a loss of over £10000 ! Clearly evidence of the need to warn serious investors that prices can go down as well as up.
