Our Buttsbury Junior School Rotakids have had another busy and exciting year, despite it being cut a little short!
One of the highlights has been their hard work towards the Billericay Dementia Friendly Schools Award. They have had the opportunity to learn what it is like to live with dementia, thinking about ways both theirr school, and the community, can become more patient, kind and understanding.
The children have all spent time visiting the Ark Day care centre in Billericay, which supports those living with a range of needs including Dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and thoroughly enjoyed their time there, gaining so much from it.
As always, we managed to fit in a number of charity events and raised money for Children in Need, Cancer Research UK and Sport Relief.
Back in the autumn term, the children had a brilliant time helping the Rotary Club at the Billericay Christmas market and revelled in practising their sales skills.
They were disappointed not to be able to do the same at Summerfest but are already excited for next year!
