Rotary Club of Prestwick Supports Local Businesses
The Rotary Club of Prestwick has been trying to think of a way to help and support our local businesses during these extraordinary times. Just a few weeks ago Prestwick was the Scottish winner of the Great British High Street Awards.
Something that has been completely overshadowed by the following crisis. However we hope that once things get better we will be able to return to some form of normality and we want the businesses to be able to thrive once more. To that end we are launching an initiative to thank, appreciate and hopefully give future support to our businesses. The ones that are staying open and serving us our necessities right now need to be appreciated.
We are also encouraging people the think about the future and to pledge that when the shops re-open we will use them, appreciate them and resist the urge to ignore them in favour of an on-line bargain. Our initiative will begin now with the launch of a poster of thanks and appreciation that can be given to shops that are currently open, just as a token of our appreciation.
Anyone can nominate any business that they feel deserves one. We will also endeavour to collate a list of these shops and will be happy to display any information the businesses wish to provide. As others reopen this can be advertised and circulated too. Once the businesses are open will offer the opportunity to share any useful tips, distancing rules or other relevant information that may help and support them.
