The Rotary Club of Chesham has supported PACE with donations in recent years, most recently as the nominated Charity to benefit from the proceeds of the highly succcesful annual Concert. Members had the opportunity to visit the Centre before lockdown to see the facilities and teaching in progress.
The Pace vision is that every child with sensory motor disorders, and their family, can access education and support services that are aligned with the Pace model and ethos. Caroline recounted some examples of children and their families who have benefitted from their child receiving care and support from their early months through to their being able to reach their potential as youngsters and beyond.
Apart from the huge personal benefit that individual children and their families receive it can be argued that the wider society gains. Whilst the costs associated with such intensive support are significant, the resultant self sufficiency that individuals may subsequently enjoy reduces the need for expensive support from Social Services and other authourities.
The Pace website at https://thepacecentre.org/ comprehensively covers all aspects of the Centre’s activities and includes amazing stories of children, some as young as 6 months, who have enjoyed the teaching and amazed experts at their level of personal achievement.
