Portland Rotary Club action

We have approached the subject of the COVID-19 outbreak and future Rotary functions on the Island.

we have decided that as members of The Rotary Club of Portland, that we will cancel all meetings until further notice and all future engagements like table top sales, and large gatherings until we are in a position where COVID-19 has run its course.

This is following the advice from the Government, as well as Rotary international and RIBI cancelling events and meetings, Weymouth, Bridport, Casterbridge, Melcombe have all cancelled (or postponed) all club meetings as well as their Presidents' Nights.

So, it is with a heavy heart we do the same, to protect everyone’s health and of course help stopping the virus from spreading. The whole club is unanimous in this decision!

We will in due course set up some kind of e-meeting or just carry out urgent business involving council and of course keeping all members informed via email, We will of course try our best to carry on safely our Rotary business within the community.

I hope you will understand that this decision was not taken lightly, and that we take the Island, the Community’s and our members Health first.

PLEASE STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!

Garry.
