Dundonald Castle Talk

Education Officer Blythe Paterson, accompanied by husband Neil Paterson, gave Prestwick Rotary an update on the history and many activities associated with Dundonald Castle.

Blythe is currently finishing a Phd in medieval history at Glasgow University, so is well-qualified to delve into past events. Her main theme was education, and through this route, visitor numbers have increased dramatically, to about 24,000 visits last year, to the castle and tearoom.

She is enthusiastic and fully committed to the cause, and is taking historical education to all, from primary school children, to care home residents. Mike Kelly offered a well-deserved vote of thanks for an excellent, well-illustrated talk. The photo shows guests Blythe and Neil Paterson, with Adnan Soojeri, and Bill Leslie.
