Presentation Night. March 2020
It was the Club's pleasure to hand over monies raised during the Christmas street collections and Ely fireworks last November.
President Alan did the honours handing over the cheques which represented the three main donations for our Presentation night.
Following the December street collections in Soham and Fordham, plus carol singing in Burwell, the sum of £2000.12 was recieved by friend of the Club and Magpas representative, Helen McMenamin-Smith. Helen personally helped with the December street collections and the Burwell carols. Helen who owes her life to Magpas following her accident, expressed huge gratitude towards the Club for it's ongoing support for this fantastic charity.
Also benefiting on the evening were two organisation from the local area. The money they recieved was part of the proceedes generated by the community Firework display held in Ely in November between the two Ely Rotary Clubs, The Scouts and Soham Rotary.
Fordham Dragon Football Club received £200 and their representative, Mark Brooks, took the opportunity to explain what the young footballers get up to and how this contribution would help them with equipment.
The little Wombats group in Soham also receivbed £300 for their organisation. This time, Amy Brooks thanked the Club and also outlined how the funds would help going forward.
Rtn Stuart Cavanagh gave the vote of thanks and expressed the Club's admiration for all the groups and their endevours ahead.
