Hello and Goodbye from Noel Carter!
The Cae Mor Hotel is the regular meeting place for Llandudno Rotary. It had been closed throughout January and so 4th February saw our first “home” meeting of 2020
Rotary is an avowedly non-political and non-religious organisation but we are never averse to inviting anyone from any organisation or religion to come and cheer us up!
We were therefore pleased to welcome Revd Noel Carter, the Church in Wales Mission Leader for Aberconwy, whose “patch” includes St Hillary’s, Rhos and St Paul’s Craig y Don
Noel’s theme was that change is an inevitable and constant factor in our lives and whilst we can sometimes fear change, coping with it can help us grow
Noel drew on his own experience from postings as varied as Maryport in Cumbria, Southern India and Jersey, illustrating his point with lighthearted tales of what was almost certainly at the time scary incidents in his life but which with hindsight actually become hilarious anecdotes that illustrate the richness of life
Further change beckons for Noel – he is due to retire next month and freely admits that this can present fresh challenges for someone used to a life of the busy structure
It was unclear whether Noel was in any way re-assured by gazing across his audience at the pensioners within the room for clues as to which way this might go!
If YOU would like to talk to Rotary or be part of the audience, do get in touch
