Business Meeting - 27/01/20

Monday was Irvine Seagate Rotary’s monthly business meeting.  It was noted that the Poppy Appeal, in November, coordinated by Seagate at Sainsbury’s and Tesco, had raised nearly £4,400. 

Seagate are organising the Dragon Boat racing on the river at the Harbour Festival in the summer.  To date 8 teams of 16 rowers have confirmed that they will take part, raising money for their chosen charities.  

This year’s Primary Schools Quiz will be at the Fullarton Hub on Friday 27 March.  5 schools have so far indicated that they will participate.  The winners will go on to compete in the Scottish finals in Glasgow the following month.  

Finally, in the monthly charity raffle, Eric Greig won a nice bottle of malt whisky.  In his absence it was agreed that he would donate it as a prize at the Sportsmen’s Dinner which is on 28 February, a much appreciated gesture.
