The Chelwood Bridge Community Committee has launched a ‘pilot’ programme at the Pensford Primary School in November 2019 to promote business literacy.
As the UK is way behind in financial awareness in young people this 5 week exercise will promote the value of money and how to manage a simple business.
Pensford School will engage 18 pupils from the school Council to form 4 teams and our Rotary Club will provide a loan to each team of £15 as seed capital. After the 5 week period the team that raises the most money at the Christmas Fair on 10th December, after repaying the loan, will win the Business Cup.
Rotary club members will be involved along the way to help and encourage the teams to develop their product ideas, budgeting and sales ideas.
If this ‘pilot’ programme is successful our Committee will consider rolling it out to other schools in the area.
