Victim Support - 11/11/19

The speaker at Irvine Seagate Rotary on Monday was Janiue Mortimer from Victim Support Scotland.  Victim Support Scotland is an independent charity providing support, information and guidance to people affected by crime.  Volunteers provide emotional and practical assistance, guidance with court and police procedures for victims and witnesses, and bereavement advice and help.  

They cover all the courts and council areas in Scotland, and the service is confidential.  Their free helpline is 0800 160 1985, their website is victimsupportsco.org.uk, and advice may be in person at home, at their local office or by webchat.

 Volunteers are all given extensive training and ongoing support, and are welcomed from all backgrounds, communities and languages.  Janey answered questions, and a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Andy Slater. 

At the end of the meeting a cheque for £1000 was presented to Victim Support from Seagate Rotary.
