Eradicate polio campaign and Tree of Remembrance

2,000 crocus corms we planted as part of the Rotary campaign to eradicate polio and on the same day a Tree of Remembrance was planted by Jennifer Hurlstone.

On Friday 25th October 2019, Members of Wednesfield Rotary Club along with the Gardening club from Wodensfield Primary school and volunteers from Wednesfield In Bloom planted 2,000 crocus corms as part of the Rotary campaign to eradicate polio. Our club donated the corms to “Friends of Wednesfield Park”.

Also, a Tree of Remembrance was planted by Jennifer Hurlstone which was blessed by Rev Nick Watson, Team Rector of Wednesfield and Rural Dean of Wulfrun.

At a later date two plaques will be put in place, one quoting “Tree of Remembrance” and the second referring to the fond memory of our late Club President Peter Hurlstone.
