Monday was Irvine Seagate Rotary’s monthly business meeting. Various activities for the coming months were discussed. Seagate Rotary will be organising the Poppy Scotland appeal at Sainsbury’s and Tesco Irvine over the first two weekends of November.
In December there will again be the Christmas Trees charity fundraising event at the Portal, and more details of this will be available shortly. Further ahead, Seagate will be visiting their French twin club in Orleans in the Spring.
On Tuesday, President Ian Dickson, Jim & Wilma Fairgrieve, Andy & Eileen Slater along with Fiona Lee & David Wordsworth travelled accross the water to Arran to have lunch with the members of our daughter club, Isle of Arran. Also taking part was District Governor Jimmy Johnston.
Next week, 30 September, is the night of the Wee Pies. There will be no formal meeting, but members who are not in the Trades will have a ‘Scatter Night’, visiting other Rotary clubs in Ayrshire.
