Irvine Valley Auctions

Prestwick Rotary was entertained last night by an excellent talk from John Nimmo about how he set up Irvine Valley Auction in Newmilns. It takes a lot of effort and dedication to set up a new business and be successful within a year, we learned.

His talk about Miss Harris, the housekeeper, (some of whose items he sold) was very interesting. She went from working in the Railway Hotel in Ayr to eventually the Waldorf Hotel.
