2014, 1st Community Water & Sanitation Project, India

The 1st Water & Sanitation Project undertaken by Walsall Saddlers in Trilokchandrapur Village, West Bengal, India constructing 45 toilet blocks and 9 hand tube fresh water wells in the Domepara, Bouripara & Bagdipara areas of the village


Completed in 2014 this is the first large scale, high value, high impact international project undertaken by Walsall Saddlers in partnership with the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central, in West Bengal, India. The project involved constructing 45 toilet blocks and 9 hand tube wells in the Domepara, Bouripara & Bagdipara areas of Trilokchandrapur village. The village is located 20 Kms east of Durgapur and has a population of 3000 people. The total cost of the project was 31761.50USD and was funded entirely by the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation ensures that people have sustainable access to water and sanitation by increasing community access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation. Strengthening the ability of the communities to develop and maintain sustainable water & sanitation systems. Educating communities about safe water, sanitation & hygiene. Supporting studies related to water & hygiene.
