Two more members for Llandudno Rotary

Traditionally August is the month that Rotary focusses on growing its membership and so it is appropriate  that this month two new members signed up to the ideas and ideals of Rotary

John Burtonwood, a retired accountant from Rowen and David Lea an antiques dealer with businesses in Holywell and Llandudno were both inducted into Rotary by Llandudno Rotary President Rosalind Hopewell at the meeting held on 20th August 2019 and we look forward to their active participation in this Autumn’s events and beyond

Rotary meets weekly and each month one of the meetings comprises a social event of one form or another. On this evening Rotarian John New had kindly organised a Race Night. It was pleasingly different from the real thing in that the bookie (“Honest John”) gave every punter £6k to gamble with at the outset (OK, it was toytown money, but..)

Plutocrat Steve Butler won the most (£26k) but reality kicked in when he was given an offer he couldn’t refuse to trade in his wealth for a bottle of white wine. Our thanks to John for organising this fun night

Blood Bikes - Wales

back Blood Bikes Wales is the eye-catching name for a group of dedicated volunteers who come together as a registered charity to transport blood and other urgently needed medical material from one NHS base in Wales to another
