Ayrshire Young Parkinsons Group - 19/08/19

Weekly Press Report

Last Saturday Irvine Seagate Rotary had a very successful ‘Bed of Nails’ stall at the Fourth Port Gala on the Low Green.  This Saturday, Marymass, Seagate will have their usual hot dogs and crepes stall in Kilwinning Road, raising funds for charity.

Seagate’s speakers on Monday were Liz Burley and Craig Walker from the Ayrshire Parkinsons Group.  Parkinsons is a progressive neurological condition without a cure at present.  Over 600 people in North Ayrshire have Parkinsons, and are affected in numerous different ways.  Some can continue to work, and others need more support.  The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the Riverside Lodge hotel from 7 to 9pm and welcomes new members.  They provide support, friendship, advice and information, and fund raise for research into a cure.  They will have a stall on the Moor at Marymass to raise awareness and give out information.

After their presentation, Liz and Craig answered questions, and a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Fiona Lee.
