The Prestwick Prom Preview 2019
Prestwick Rotarians will be out in force this year supporting The Prestwick Prom. Prestwick Rotary Club is delighted to provide entertainment for all ages at the Prom. Archery is a new attraction for children and adults, and we provide a safe, netted area for folk to try out their skills.
The 'shuffleboard' run by Rotarian John Brebner is a game of skill, and the highest score on the day takes away the bulk of the play money. Other favourites are 'the tin can shy' and 'splat the rat', both games of skill designed with children in mind. Guess the weight of the crocodile is also a lot of fun, and again the focus is on families being actively engaged in having a good time. Money raised will be directed to local charities.
The Rotary stall is near housing at the top end of the site. Anyone interested in becoming involved in the local community as a member of Prestwick Rotary Club should visit the stall, and meet Rotarians. We are always on the look out for new members, and you would be made very welcome. Visit Prestwick Rotary Club on facebook for more details of our wide-ranging activities.
A small trust fund is available from The Rotary Club of Prestwick to help anyone needing financial support for a worthy reason. The amount normally available to an individual is £100 to help with, for example, an educational course or travel, when money is in short supply. In the past, young people have been helped with musical education, and study travel, to give them an opportunity to participate in an activity, which would otherwise be denied them, through a lack of funding.
If you think that this fund would help you, contact our secretary Bill Leslie on moyra.billy@gmail.com. Send in a brief note of how you think the fund could be useful for you . The fund is available for people of all ages living in Prestwick, Symington or Monkton. If you would prefer to talk to a Rotarian about the trust fund, then The Prestwick Prom provides a good opportunity to do so.
back This Community Committee is responsible for all domestic projects that the club is involved in to improve the quality of life in the local community.
